Russell Hines has played a critical role in Monument Realty’s growth from a nascent development company in 1998 to one of the top-performing, full-service real estate firms in the Washington, DC area. Over the last two decades, Russell has taken on numerous responsibilities, including overseeing individual developments, spearheading acquisitions and financing activities, leading the development team, and running Monument Realty’s day-to-day operations.
A number of key Monument Realty projects have benefited from Russell’s expertise and guidance, including Ballston Tower and Ballston Point, two large speculative office developments that began the revitalization of that Arlington County submarket; Potomac Place, a 700-residence condominium development in Southwest Washington, which led him to receive a Mayor’s Award of Excellence for Preservation Leadership; and Monument View, a 320,000-square-foot local headquarters for the Boeing Company, which involved a complicated swap of high-profile properties with Arlington County.
Russell is an active member of the real estate community, serving for a number of years on the executive committee of the Real Estate Group and on the board of directors for the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, ArtsFairfax, and the Capitol Riverfront BID. Russell graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
